How We Choose Missions To Support

Each year, Congregation Lion of Judah selects ministries to support in addition to the Congregation’s organic efforts. The Board of Directors recommends to the Congregation and the Congregation has the opportunity to endorse the organizations to support. Normally, the Board recommends a ministry in each of the categories below, though it has the latitude to make exceptions based on circumstances.

  1. Community Outreach ministries or organizations
  2. Direct Support to the People or/and the nation of Israel
  3. Messianic/Jewish Education
  4. Christian Outreach
  5. American Missionary Fellowship will receive support while we are under the aegis of AMF

The routine giving level is 20% of the Congregation’s gross general offering income. Donations are sent out at the end of each quarter.

Currently the Congregation supports the following five missions: American Missionary Fellowship, Love INC of Mason County,Peniel Learning Center, RESCUE Israel, and the Russian Community Life Center.

In addition to these five missions, a mission or a special ministry project is selected by the Board of Elders and the Board of Directors every six months to receive a one time donation of $1000.00.

A Missions and Missions Giving Committee was formed in 2006 to research and submit missions suggestions to the Elder Board. The Elders then submit their recommendations to the Board of Directors, as stated above.
