To eat or not to eat

The 14th chapter of the Epistle to the Romans initially left me stumped.
I read it and was absolutely convinced that this chapter condemns Kashrut—that there are no clean or unclean animals. And so I look at this chapter and realize that I simply don't understand how to explain it any other way!
Surely Paul—who follows the teachings of the Torah—couldn't be saying such a thing!
That means what I’ve been taught for so many years is incorrect, and I need to examine this text very carefully.
