The Jewish morning prayer "Mode Ani Lefaneha" inspired the author to create this song.

The prayer in Hebrew goes like this: מוֹדֶה אֲנִי לְפָנֶיךָ מלך חַי וְקַיָּם שֶהֶחֱזַרְתָּ בִּי נִשְׁמָתִי בְחֶמְלָה, רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֶךָ רַבָּה אֱמוּנָתֶךָ ("Modeh ani l’fanecha melech chai v’kayam shehechezarta bi nish’mati b’chemla raba emunatecha") “I thank You, living, enduring King, for You have returned my soul within me in kindness, great is Your faithfulness.”

In the Jewish tradition, sleep is a small death, when a person's soul leaves his body and goes to the Creator. Every morning, by His mercy, the Creator returns the soul to man. This shows His faithfulness to us. But the last line can also be translated as "great is Your faith in me"! This translation carries the connotation that the Creator believes in me, that I can do something good in this new day. And therefore, He gives me a new day to wake up! It is like a small resurrection for each of us! Use this day for something good!
